Transylvania (Latin for ‘the land beyond the forest’) is the Romanian region with the most significant cultural diversity. A breathtaking scenery enhances the beauty of this region. There are plenty of tourist attractions, from the well-known Dracula’s Castle to the medieval cities (Cluj, Sibiu, Brașov) and to the fortified Saxon churches.

Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Brașov

Arrival in Bucharest and transfer to Brașov. In Prejmer and Hărman we see two of the most impressive defensive systems in Transylvania. Dinner and overnight stay in Brașov.

Day 2: Brașov – Sighișoara – Sibiu

During the city tour in Brașov, we get to see the main tourist features of this medieval city inside the Carpathian Arch: the council hall, the Weaver’s Bastion (visit included), the Black and the White Tower, the Schei quarter, etc. The highlight of the tour will be the Black Church, a Gothic construction from the 14^th century with a great collection of oriental carpets. Afterwards, we drive to Sighișoara on the ‘road of the fortified churches’. We visit the town and we see the main touristic objectives of the so-called ‘Pearl of Transylvania’: the Clock Tower, the Church on the Hill, the Citadel, the former defensive towers and walls of the city, and also the birthplace of the Wallachian leader Vlad Dracul, who later became known as Count Dracula in Gothic literature and film. Dinner and overnight stay in Sibiu.

Day 3: Sibiu – Bucharest

During our city tour in Sibiu, we see the Old Town, the city church, the Upper City, the Lower City, and the historic buildings that create that special medieval atmosphere. Drive through the beautiful Olt valley back to Bucharest.
