City Tours

Bucharest was first mentioned in historical documents as early as 1459. Since then, it has gone through a variety of changes, becoming the state capital of Romania in 1862 and steadily consolidating its position as the center of Romanian media, culture and arts. Its eclectic architecture reflects a mix of historical (Neoclassical), interbellum (Bauhaus and Art Deco), Communist-era and modern art. In the period between the two world wars, the city’s elegant architecture and the sophistication of its elite earned Bucharest the nickname “Little Paris of the East”. Although many buildings and districts in the historic center were damaged or destroyed by war, earthquakes and Nicolae Ceaușescu’s program of systematization, many survived. In recent years, the city has been experiencing an economic and cultural boom.

Mini Tour

2-hour drive on Victoriei Boulevard and Magheru Street along Revolution Square, the former Royal Palace, the Palace of Parliament (2nd largest building in the world) and the Patriarchal Cathedral.

Grand Tour

We walk on Victoriei Boulevard and Magheru Street along Revolution Square, the former Royal Palace, and then on Lipscani Street where German merchants once sold their products. It’s still a commercial area today. The ruins of the former royal court remind us of Vlad Țepeș, the Wallachian ruler who inspired the fictional character Dracula. We visit the Palace of Parliament and the ethnographic museum.

Little Paris of the East

This tour encompasses the past, present and future of the capital city. We walk through the older neighborhoods with impressive architecture and visit remarkable churches (Colțea, Stavropoleos and the Patriarchal Cathedral) and the city museum.

In Brâncoveanu’s footsteps

The best known Wallachian ruler of the 17th century was an art lover. The architectural style developed during his time could be noticed everywhere in Bucharest. A walk will take us to these forgotten buildings (Colțea, Patriarchal Cathedral).
